AN ORDINANCE OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF APPLE VALLEY ADOPTING THE WILDLAND URBAN INTERFACE (WUI) MAP
WHEREAS, the Town of Apple Valley (“Town”) has adopted International Urban Wildland Interface Code, 2003 edition (AVMC 12.02.040); and
WHEREAS, the Town of Apple Valley (“Town”) has the statutory authority to adopt a Wildland Urban Interface (WUI) map to be used in conjunction with the adopted WUI code; and
WHEREAS, the Town Council held a public hearing on May 17, 2023 to receive comment on the proposed map; and
WHEREAS, all interested persons in attendance at the public hearing were given an opportunity to be heard; and
WHEREAS, at a meeting of the Town Council of Apple Valley, Utah, duly called, noticed, and held on the 17th day of May 2023, and upon motion duly made and seconded:
WHEREAS, the Town Council of Apple Valley, Utah now deems it necessary and desirable for the preservation and protection of the public health, safety, and welfare of the residents of Apple Valley, Utah to approve and adopt said WUI Map for incorporation into the ordinances of the Town of Apple Valley,
BE IT HEREBY ORDAINED, by the Town Council of Apple Valley, Utah that the WUI Map, updated, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein as Exhibit A, is hereby approved, adopted, and incorporated into the ordinances of the Town of Apple Valley.
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED, that this ordinance shall take effect as soon as allowed by law after publication and posting and shall supersede all prior maps.
