Code Enforcement

Code Enforcement utilizes a variety of tools in an effort to achieve compliance. Education is our primary tool as many individuals may be unaware they are violating Town Codes. Most of the time, we can work with the responsible party and provide a timeframe to resolve the issue without penalty.

Types of violations that Code Compliance addresses:

Nuisance Animals Auto Storage
Junk/Abandoned Vehicles Accessory Structures & Uses Fire Hazards
Zone Violations Squatting Violations Buildings
Refuse

What can I do if I believe a code violation exists?

Make contact with the responsible person

  • Issues are often resolved without Town action when neighbors discuss their concerns directly with one another.
  • Submit a code compliance complaint form.

Can my complaint be anonymous?
No, the Town does not accept anonymous complaints, but the source of the complaint is kept private. However, the Town may be ordered to reveal this information if a case leads to a judicial proceeding or it may be requested through a public records request (GRAMA).
